My play I Am Not Mine has been selected to be developed and performed as a reading in the Seeds of Time festival produced by Marin Shakespeare in sponsorship with Play On Shakespeare.
About the play:
I Am Not Mine is a myth-infected drama set inside a walled refugee city where occupation and displacement have reduced living to survival. When a rebel leader, imprisoned for thirteen years, returns to what is left of his family, he finds a daughter and son shaped by abandonment and rage, fuelled by his wife who moves through their lives like a Fury. As the family struggles beneath the weight of a liberation that never arrived, the play asks whether love or vengeance can heal what war has unmade.
The play is inspired by the Oresteia and Philoctetes.
